The UM3288F is 8-channel ESD-protected level translator provides the level shifting necessary to allow data transfer in a multi-voltage system. Externally applied voltages, V_CCB and V_CCA, set the logic levels on either side of the device. A low-voltage logic signal present on the V_CCA side of the device appears as a high-voltage logic signal on the V_CCB side of the device, and vice-versa. The UM3288F bidirectional level translator utilizes a transmission-gate based design to allow data translation in either direction (V_CCA↔V_CCB) on any single data line. V_CCA and V_CCB have a common operating voltage from +1.1V to +5.5V. V_CCA being less than V_CCB is no longer a requirement.
This device is fully specified for partial-power-down applications using I_OFF. The I_OFF circuitry disables the outputs, thus preventing damaging current backflow through the device when it is powered down. The V_CC isolation feature is designed so that if either VC_C input supply is below 100mV, all level shifter outputs are disabled and placed into a high impedance state. The UM3288F enters a three-state output mode to reduce supply current when output enable (OE) is low. The UM3288F is designed so that the OE input circuit is supplied by V_CCA. ±8kV ESD protection on both sides for greater protection in applications that route signals externally.
The UM3288F series are available in CSP20 2.4×1.9, TSSOP20, QFN20 4.5×3.5 and QFN20 3.0×3.0 packages.
